Getting Started
Who's Up Next? uses face recognition to track whose turn it is to buy rounds. Here's how to get the best results:
Adding Friends
Add friends from the Crew tab by tapping +. You can take a photo, choose from your photo library, or import from contacts. For the best face recognition:
- Add 3–5 photos from different angles and lighting
- Include photos from different distances
- The quality meter shows when you have enough photos
- When selecting a library photo with multiple faces, tap the correct person
Scanning Your Group
You don't need everyone in the frame at once. Pan the camera around and the app accumulates recognised faces over time. Use either the front or rear camera — tap the flip button to switch.
If Recognition Isn't Working Well
- Add more photos — more variety in angles and lighting helps significantly
- Check lighting — very dark environments make recognition harder
- Try the other camera — sometimes front vs rear makes a difference
- Use manual mode — tap "Pick Manually" to select participants from a list
Without Face Recognition
Don't have photos set up yet? No problem. Tap "Pick Manually" on the scanner screen to choose who's here from your friends list. You can add new friends on the fly from the picker too.
Groups
Groups are created automatically when you first log a round with a new combination of people. Each group tracks its own rotation independently. You can rename groups from the Crew tab but can't change membership — this keeps the rotation history fair.
